Seven Counties buys second West End building
Seven Counties Services Inc. has bought a building at 2650 W. Broadway to house some of the organization’s outpatient mental-health programs.
Seven Counties purchased the 12,000-square-foot building for $787,500, according to a news release.
The organization also offers outpatient mental-health and substance-abuse services at its 2225 W. Broadway location. Seven Counties has been searching for additional property in the West End for five years, the release said.
“Unfortunately, there has been a shortage of available space appropriate for medical and other services of this type in the West End,” Bev Compton, director of properties, said in the release. “Much of what is available is industrial or warehouse space that would need extensive retrofitting for our needs, and therefore makes some available properties simply too expensive for us.
“The 2650 W. Broadway site has a number of attributes that we look for when choosing facilities for our medical services … the site is convenient; it is on one of the main east-west arteries of the city; it is accessible for those with disabilities; it is on a bus line; it also has a lot of parking; and the building is clean and attractive.”
About 30 to 35 Seven Counties employees will staff the site.
Seven Counties Services is a nonprofit corporation that provides planning, prevention, treatment and support services in the areas of mental health, alcohol and drug use and abuse, and mental retardation and other developmental disabilities. It serves Jefferson, Henry, Bullitt, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer and Trimble counties in Kentucky.
