Foreclosure Activity Up

Foreclosure activity last month hit the highest level seen in 2005, as higher interest rates finally may be taking a toll on the nation’s residential market, according to industry monitor RealtyTrac.
Owners of 81,290 homes nationwide entered some phase of foreclosure in December, up 13.5 percent from the previous month, the Irvine, Calif.-based company found.
